I won't bore you with excuses for not posting. Winter got in the way for a while; I am so glad it is almost at an end as it is very depressing. The snow on the mountain looks great but the day to day routine of getting out the door on a frosty grey morning and coming home in the dark makes me feel like jumping on a plane and landing somewhere bright and sunny for a while. Sept 1st is SPRING - yes!
I just deleted my last post which was a Youtube video of Coldplay, I was so sick of looking at it stuck at the top of the page reminding me that I have not written an update in forever. You know when you haven't updated for a while and the longer you leave it, the harder it is to get back into the groove? Happens to me all the time. And then I think ' arrrrghh I have nothing exciting to say anyway!'
First thought - how do you save your blog entries for posterity? If I closed my blog i.e. stopped paying for it each month, would it be gone forever? Is there a quick and easy way of saving what you've already written because I've been blogging here for 4 years now and I really don't want to lose it all. Not that I'm seriously considering disappearing, but I do want to save my drivel for the kids to read one day.
Today:
Wednesday 27th 11.45am , sunny but chilly in Hobart
My last day of work for the week
I'm at work on my own all day
Amelie is at the daycarer's house being noisy and happy (I hope)
Ryan is at school. He wore his shorts for the first time in months today; I still don't think it's anywhere near warm enough but he insists ' everybody else does!' (not true) and of course that's reason enough for a 6 year old ;) He also runs and stumbles a lot so I will expect at least one skun knee tonight.
It is my s/daughter's 17th birthday today - Happy Birthday J!
I am getting hungry
I plan to go out at lunchtime and look for a Father's day pressie for M and for my dad. Already have a headache just thinking about it. It's true, it does get harder every year.
Tomorrow:
Day off.
Ryan's class is going to a school dance event with several other schools and performing 5 or 6 cute little dances and songs. Nothing cuter than 5-6year olds doing their little dances, forgetting their moves and lines, the little girls being so much more enthusiastic than the boys, who would rather just be running around outside playing Star Wars.
We will go to watch this cuteness with little miss A who won't want to sit in her stroller and will need to be plied with biscuits and fruit bars.
Amelie is 28 months now. How on earth did that happen? She is a real little madam these days but very sweet and loves to cuddle. She's coming out with all sorts of words and phrases which are very funny. Her latest favourite is ' oh! what happened??' usually when she has been holding something and either squashed it, mangled it, broken it or pulled it apart :) She is also very fond of 'wuv oo' and the very demanding 'dummy! get it!!' Hasn't quite mastered the magic word 'please' just yet.
Mr Ryan is 6yrs 9mths and doing very well at school. He's into dinosaurs, racing around, trains (still), Transformers, drawing, designing, writing and generally mucking about as only 6 year old boys can.
He's moved on from wanting to be a train driver but his new career choice has me a bit worried. We were driving to daycare/school/work yesterday and saw a council vehicle parked by the side of the road. A worker jumped out and when the road was clear he proceeded to pick up a dead wallaby from the middle of the road and slung it into the back of the truck.
" 'That's what I want to be when I grow up, mum - a dead animal collector"
Hmmm.
Hey Sue -- just happened to be glancing through blogs today at work, and realized that you posted! yay!!!
Good to read an update -- and glad that you and your fam are doing well.
I'm as bad as you about posting, but I do have a couple of updates over the last week or so, if you're interested in reading...

Good to see you on here again! I've missed you. I know how you feel about the winter - it's been long and cold for us up here in southern Queensland too. The coldest we've had for years and I'm SO over it. Bring on SPRING!!!
I love the new career - hopefully he'll take it further and perhaps become a Taxidermist. LOL

Good to read you're all doing well. I can't believe Amelie is already so big and more than 2?!?! Where has the time gone?
Hope to catch up a bit more soon.
God Bless you.
